Yearly Statistics in the United States
An estimated 10,000 new cases per year in the US, with an overall
spinal cord injured (SCI) population of approximately 230,000.
Out of the population of acute SCI cases, approximately 20% do
not survive to reach hospitalization, and a further 3% die during
acute treatment.
